COVID-19 CUSTOMER INFORMATION
As most COVID-19 restrictions across England are being lifted, starting from 19th July 2021, we are continuing to review our COVID-19 risk assessment in line with the changing Government guidelines and guidance from our governing body – the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
The health and safety of our staff and clients, alongside the welfare of the animals in our care, remain our top priorities. Protecting our staff and clients from further outbreaks and periods of self-isolation is vitally important, as it means our surgeries can remain open and our teams can continue to care for your pets whenever they need us.
But, while local COVID infection rates continue to rise or remain high, to help minimise the risk of infection, we will continue to operate a ‘closed door’ policy for the immediate future, until we can ensure all our staff have had the opportunity to be fully vaccinated. We do this in order to support staff welfare.
PLEASE be patient with our people – we are working under very difficult circumstances and we are doing our very best to provide a good service for our clients and their animals.
We have missed our clients very much, and over the coming weeks, we will be preparing to gradually welcome our clients back into our surgeries to be with their beloved pets during consultation with our vets.
Our teams will continue to wear PPE and practice social distancing. To protect our staff, and in order for us to be here for you and your pets, and to provide the best possible care, we request that you wear a face covering when visiting our premises, and continue to observe the two metre rule. We do appreciate some of our clients are unable to wear a face covering for health reasons. In these circumstances, we ask that you still maintain social distancing.
We would like to thank all our clients for their continued support, patience and understanding.
NOTIFICATION OF CHANGES TO OPENING HOURS
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the current government guidelines, we are making some changes to the way we work at The Icknield Veterinary Group. Whilst we are still ‘open for business,’ this is ONLY for essential, urgent and emergency work.
For this reason, we will be altering our opening hours at our Dunstable and Harpenden surgeries. Emergency cover will still be available 24/7, as usual; but we are limiting everything else to 9am – 3pm Monday to Friday. After 3pm telephone calls will be diverted from these surgeries to our Luton branch (on Brook Street), where they will take urgent phone calls until 7pm weekdays. After 7pm all calls are diverted to Vets Now Emergency Service, for emergency calls only.
On Saturdays, all sites will be open from 9-11am with Luton taking urgent telephone calls up until 1pm. After this time we will transfer to Vets Now Emergency Service.
In order to help up to help you all through this crisis, we would greatly appreciate if you would please limit phone calls at all 3 surgeries for non-urgent enquiries and repeat prescriptions to the mornings only. Please do not call for these non-urgent things after 3pm. However, if you do have a concern about your pet which is urgent, please do call us.
Thank you for your patience whilst we navigate these trying times. Stay safe.
